
Senior Complex Gets New Flags in Time for Holiday
Residents of Detroit Baptist Manor in Farmington Hills showed their patriotic loyalty by attending a flag raising ceremony Monday, May 22, 2006.

D-Farmington Hills, A World War II Army veteran presented the 100 elderly residents with a new American flag and a new state flag, just in time for Memorial Day. Detroit Baptist Manor Named Outstanding Business Partner
of the Detroit Baptist Manor Have been named Outstanding Business Partner for their work with Highmeadow Common Campus. For the past 17 years, the third grade classes at Highmeadow Common campus have been building a friendship with the residents of Detroit Baptist Manor. Every holiday party, and once or twice a month beyond that, 25-50 eight and nine-year-olds cross the street and walk through the gate to pay a visit to their neighbors. Most of the third graders' new friends are between 80 and 100 years old. Students come to laugh, tell stories, read poems, sing songs, play games, perform plays, make crafts, share cookies and just plain "be" with their friends
